Open Wheel Invitational and August Club Racing
Registration is open for the Open Wheel Invitational and August Club Racing weekend at Area 27, running from Friday, August 28, 2026 to Sunday, August 30, 2026. The weekend brings together Rush, Non-Winged Open Wheel, Winged Open Wheel, Radical SR3 and GT classes for a full program of racing.
Members are welcome and encouraged to attend the event, but there will be no Member Lapping throughout the weekend. If you plan to race, volunteer, spectate or support a team, review the event materials in advance so you know the schedule, rules, registration process and license requirements before arriving.
Who needs an ORRA 27 race license?
All racers competing at Area 27 must hold an ORRA 27 race license. This requirement applies regardless of any other license a racer may hold. If you raced elsewhere, have a national license, have run another club series or have previous credentials, the Area 27 process still runs through ORRA 27 so the organization can review your experience against the requirements of this circuit and event.
Racers with a previous ORRA license may renew. Drivers seeking a higher designation can apply for an upgrade. What ORRA 27 looks for in an application

How the ORRA 27 license connects to Area 27 race series

Its activities include issuing lapping, amateur racing and karting licenses.
On the ORRA 27 site, sanctioned activity at Area 27 includes the GT27 Pirelli Cup, GT54 championships, Radical Canada West series, CKRA and ROK Cup karting series. The August race weekend also brings Rush, Radical SR3, GT and open wheel classes together on the same event calendar. Medical and guardian requirements
ORRA 27's application includes a medical self-declaration and a physician-completed medical package. It also notes that ORRA 27 will accept a comparable race licensing medical form.
The application sets medical package validity by age: applicants aged 50 and under are listed as valid for 5 years, applicants aged 51 to 65 for 2 years, and applicants aged 66 and older for 1 year. Medical examinations must be completed by a licensed medical practitioner.
If the applicant is under 18 years old, the ORRA 27 license application includes a parent or guardian signature section. That matters because a driver can be old enough for some driving activities and still need a guardian signature for licensing paperwork.
Transponders: no working transponder, no times
All racers are responsible for bringing their own transponders. Area 27 does not have transponders available to rent. A few may be available to purchase, but racers should not arrive expecting to borrow one for the weekend.
