How To Get A Racing Licence Or Track Licence For Area 27

What Is Required
Choose the licence grade that fits your experience. You must meet at least one qualifying route listed for that grade and provide supporting proof.
Area 27 Lapping Licence
- Academy 27 2.5-Day Driving School completed within the past 5 years; or
- another high-performance driving certificate from the past 10 years; or
- relevant racing or high-performance driving experience approved by the Area 27 Chief Instructor.
Dutchway Enduro Licence
- Area 27 Lapping Licence or prior Area 27 experience; or
- Academy 27 2.5-Day Driving School completed within the past 5 years; or
- another high-performance driving certificate from the past 10 years; or
- relevant experience approved by the Area 27 Chief Instructor.
Road Racing Novice Licence
- Academy 27 2.5-Day Driving School completed within the past 5 years; or
- an FIA-accredited regional-level race licence issued within the past 10 years; or
- an FIA-accredited race-licence school certificate completed within the past 10 years; or
- relevant experience approved by the Area 27 Chief Instructor.
Road Racing Senior Licence
- ORRA 27 Novice Race Licence with at least six clean races; or
- FIA-accredited national-level race licence and at least three full track days at Area 27; or
- FIA international-level race licence; or
- previous ORRA 27 Senior Race Licence issued within the past 10 years.
ORRA 27 Instructor Licence
For non-academy instructors on private rental dates. You must have driven at Area 27 and know its circuit, demonstrate safe driving and track-procedure knowledge, have suitable high-performance and teaching experience, hold a valid driver's licence, and meet ORRA 27's conduct requirements. All requirements are reviewed before approval.
This licence does not grant racing privileges. A racing licence requires a separate application and fee. ORRA 27 assigns an internal qualification level from 1 to 4.

What Documents Do I Need?
New applications and renewals must include the completed application and the documents that apply to the requested grade.
Medical documents
Complete the medical self-declaration every year. Provide a current physician-signed ORRA 27 medical package or another motorsports-authority medical when required by the age-based renewal schedule. Keep your original medical documentation; it may be requested again.
Photograph is optional
The digital licence does not show a personal photograph. You may upload a PNG or JPG headshot for staff records, but it is not required.
Proof of experience
Provide a race logbook, race-school certificate, previous race licence, official race results, or other relevant documentation supporting the grade requested. Renewal applicants must include proof of their previous ORRA 27 licence.
File requirements
Upload the actual documents with your application. Website links cannot replace proof of experience. PDF, PNG, and JPG files are accepted, with up to 10 files and a combined size of 10 MB or less.
Submit a complete application with relevant documents well before your intended event. Applications received within 14 days of an event are not guaranteed to be approved in time. Missing or unrelated materials can result in denial and require a new application.

Do I Need A Race Licence?
A casual public driving experience, Rally Kart booking, Kartplex session, or Academy 27 program is different from entering an ORRA 27 sanctioned racing event. If your goal is organized club racing, lapping approval, or entering a race weekend at Area 27, ORRA 27 is the licence authority you need to work through. Send your applicant details, Area 27 membership status, licence goal, car details, class or use, and track/race experience summary.

Complete your medical documentation
Complete the self-declaration online. Have the physician package completed and signed by your doctor, retain it, and upload the current copy with each annual application or renewal. The ORRA 27 medical schedule determines when a new examination is required.
